In the past week, there have been reports that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) was planning on holding a second H1B lottery. Recently, the Anwari Law Firm began receiving notifications that some of our clients’ registrations (that were submitted in March 2020) have now been selected. Each employer for these selected registrations is being given through November 16, 2020 to file a cap-subject petition based on the registration. The registration notices indicate that these are “August 2020 Selection of Reserve Registrations.” As USCIS has not yet made an official announcement regarding this second round of selections, it is not clear whether additional selection notifications are forthcoming.
