The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced several laws that will take effect in 2020.
The new laws that go into effect in 2020 could get permanent residents deported if you don’t pay attention.
New Green Card Rules for 2020
Tax Returns
Failing to admit you’re an immigrant on your tax returns or failing to report some of your income could get you deported.
The U.S. Draft Selective Service
Men between the ages of 18 and 25 who hold a green card must register with the U.S. Selective Service; failure to do so could lead to deportation
Overseas Vacations
An extended overseas vacation could cost someone their green card – it could be considered “abandonment” of the green card.
With the new changes, many are no longer willing to take the change of holding a green card. A Green Card must be renewed every ten years but now instead of renewing a green card, many are becoming U.S. citizens to avoid deportation.
Making a simple mistake with these three new rules are rules for deportation.
