The U.S. Department of State has announced on September 9, 2020 that due to a federal court order issued on September 4, 2020, consulates may resume processing fiscal year 2020 diversity visa (DV) cases to the degree that “local health conditions and post resources allow.” However, consulates will only be able to process these cases until September 30, 2020, which is the end of the current fiscal year. Once the new fiscal year begins on October 1st, no more DV cases may be processed for the previous fiscal year.
